Customer Service Factor in the Merger of Continentenal and United Airlines

When companies merge, foremost fear of customers is how they will be treated. In the case of banks, depositors of the two separate banks can’t help feeling anxious as to the future of their financial relationship with the newly formed banking institution. After all, there is money and privileges at stake here.

In the case of airlines such as the case of Continental and United Airlines, whose customer strategy will prevail?

In the field of customer service:

Continental is regarded as having the better image. It ranked second among U.S. airlines in the University of Michigan’s latest American Customer Satisfaction index, second only to Southwest. United came in last.

In the interest of their flying public, let’s hope that the new management of the merged company will think of their customers welfare first.
